  1. Zinc borate can be used as multi-functional synergistic additives with antimony oxide or other halogenated flame retardants to significantly improve the flame retardant performance, remove smoke emission and adjust the balance on chemical, mechanical, electrical etc properties.
  2. As environmental protection substitute to replace current Antimony Oxide or halogen flame retardants, Zinc borate is directly used in PVC, PE, Polyolefin, Epoxy Polyamide etc resins and rubber process. Moreover, it is widely used in textile, fiber, floor, leather, wall paper, carpet, paint etc decorative materials to improve flame retardant performance.
  3. Base on its anti static properties, zinc borate is widely used in mining plastic material, and used on anti-corrosion, infra red absorption, fungicide for wood preservation etc fields.

Physical and Chemical Properties

Zinc borate, with the chemical formula 2ZnO.3B2O3.3.5H2O and a molecular weight of 434.6, is a halogen-free boron-based flame retardant.

 

Application

  1. It is widely used in plastics (eg: PVC, PP, ABS, etc.), enhancing the flame retardancy & fire safety of plastic products by inhibiting combustion & reducing smoke generation.
  2. It can enhance the flame retardant effect of rubber without significantly affecting its mechanical properties & processability.
  3. It can be used as a flame retardant additive to improve the fire rating of coating films, suitable for scenarios with fire protection requirements such as construction & transportation.
  4. It imparts certain flame retardant properties to textiles & paper through impregnation or coating treatment, reducing their flammability.
  5. It is used in materials such as insulation layers & casings of wires & cables to improve the fire safety of products & meet relevant industry standards.

 

Storage

The product should be stored under dry and clean conditions in its original packing.the moisture may increase if not under dry condition.
