Physical and Chemical Properties:

It is a clear, colourless non-flammable liquid with a chloroform-like pleasant and pungent smell.

Application:

1. Trichloroethylene is a good analgesic at 0.35 to 0.5% concentrations.
2. Trilene was also used as an inhaled analgesic.
3. It has also been used as a dry cleaningsolvent.
4. The greatest use of TCE has been as a degreaser for metal parts.
5. TCE has also been used to clean kerosene-fueled rocket engines.
6. TCE is also used in the manufacture of a range of fluorocarbon refrigerants.

Storage:

Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. The storage temperature does not exceed 32°C and the relative humidity does not exceed 80%. The packaging must be sealed and must not come into contact with air. They should be stored separately from oxidants, reducing agents, alkalis, metal powders, and food chemicals, and avoid mixed storage.
