Physical and Chemical Properties:

Cyclohexane is a cycloalkane with the molecular formula C6H12. Cyclohexane is non-polar. Cyclohexane is a colourless, flammable liquid with a distinctive detergent-like odor.

Application

1. Cyclohexane is mainly used for the industrial production of adipic acidand caprolactam, which are precursors to nylon.
2. Cyclohexane is used as a non-polar organic solvent.
3. Cyclohexane is also used for calibration of differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) instruments.
4. Cyclohexane vapour is used in vacuum carburizing furnaces, in heat treating equipment manufacture.
5. It is frequently used as a recrystallizationsolvent.

Storage

Store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Keep away from sparks and heat sources. The temperature of the warehouse should not exceed 30 ℃. Keep the container sealed. It should be stored separately from oxidants and should not be mixed for storage. Using explosion-proof lighting and ventilation facilities.
