Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether is an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H14O2. It is a colorless, transparent liquid that is soluble in water, acetone, benzene, ether, methanol, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents, as well as mineral oil.
Application
It is primarily used as a high-boiling point solvent for paints, especially for nitrocellulose spray paints, quick-drying paints, varnishes, enamel, and paint removers. It is also used as an inactive diluent for adhesives, a metal detergent, a paint remover, a fiber wetting agent, a pesticide dispersant, a pharmaceutical extractant, and a resin plasticizer.
Storage
