Physical and Chemical Properties:
Sodium polyacrylate (ACR, ASAP, or PAAS),is a sodium salt of polyacrylic acid.The chemical formula is (C3H3O2Na) n, which is a white powder with no odor or taste, and strong moisture absorption. It is insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone.
Application
- Used as a corrosion and scale inhibitor, water quality stabilizer, coating thickener and water retaining agent, flocculant, drilling mud treatment agent, etc.
- Used for circulating cold water treatment of copper equipment, it has good scale inhibition effect.
- Used as a low solid phase drilling fluid loss reducer.
- A good dispersant. Can be used in combination with other water treatment agents for oilfield water injection, cooling water, and boiler water treatment.
